Thames Boating Certificate

This is a Thames based course which can be undertaken at Club level at no cost. A booklet with the course details and the practical exercises can be obtained from the Chairman. Successful completion of the written and practical examination will result in the award of a burgee and a suitable decal.

Practical Training - Inland Waterways Helmsman’s Course.

This is the course for anyone wanting to cruise inland waterways. It assumes no previous knowledge and is ideal for the first-time boater to learn the basic skills or those with some experience who want to improve. It’s a 2-day course which can be completed on your boat or our own luxury cruiser.Inland Waterways Crew CourseThis is a great course for friends and family including children who may go boating with you. It gives them the basic skills to become a valuable crew member. The course lasts 1 or 2 days and the minimum age is just 8yrs so it’s good to involve the family.

Shorebased Training - Day Skipper.

The Day Skipper shorebased course offers an introduction to navigation, seamanship and safety and is suitable for novices and those with some basic knowledge.Coastal Skipper/YachtmasterAn advanced training for experienced skippers covering navigation and safety on coastal and offshore passages.SRC/VHF RadioThis course is a requirement for anyone using a marine VHF radio aboard their vessel.
